The Mei Levi Yitzchok Mikveh, built to the highest standards of kashrus.
Chessed
Hospitality for visitors, daily chessed for community members, food distribution and aid for every Jew in the city, and now humanitarian help during the war.
The chevra kaddisha
The community’s chevra kaddisha performs chessed shel emes and cares for the Jewish cemetery.
Minyanim
All daily tefillos are held at the Berditchev community’s spiritual center.
The holy tziyun
As moro d’asro of Berditchev, Rabbi Thaler is responsible for guarding and running the holy tziyun, where Jews come throughout the year. He works day and night so that those who come to pray can reach the tziyun at any hour.
The discovery of the original tziyun was made by the moro d’asro together with Hagaon Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm shlita, rav of Zhitomir and Western Ukraine, and Rabbi Yitzchok Gelbstein shlita, director of the Perushim Chevra Kaddisha in Jerusalem.
These days the tziyun stands almost deserted, yet it continues to be guarded at great cost.
